Ordering DEK Drain

The average cost of a DEK Drain system is $4.00-$5.00 per square foot of deck surface. You can use our Online Calculation System to determine the cost of your DEK Drain system. Only a few clicks are required to project the quantity and cost of the required materials including packaging and freight. You can place your order online. However, using our calculation system implies no obligation to place an order.

If you prefer, you can call us at 866-DEK-DRAIN (1-866-335-3724) to calculate the cost of your system. We’re happy to serve you either way. Our staff is available 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST Monday through Friday.

Online Calculation System

All parts of the DEK Drain system are made of the same flexible and durable rubber membrane. You simply select the quantity and size of the pieces needed for your deck. Generally there will be one panel for each bay in the deck. A Bay is the area between two joists. The components of the DEK Drain system are prefabricated based on the dimensions ordered. Minor trimming is simple using a common household scissors.

All components of the system are pre-fabricated to exact width and length. There will be no waste and the pitch for drainage is built-in. The projected cost of your materials is presented for your information on an interim step by step basis and then summarized for your review.

Some projects require non-standard sizes or other customization. For example, if rail posts are mounted inside bays, you may need post flashing kits to prevent leaking in that area. If joists are doubled or tripled, wider cap will be required.

Call us for help with any non-standard situation.

Please select the following options to start the calculation process by clicking in one of the orange boxes:

Type of Construction

The DEK Drain Topside system is installed after the posts, beams, and joists are in place, but before the decking is installed. The Underside product is installed to the bottom of the joists on existing decks.

Framing

System components are sized for standard deck framing. The joist spacing is measured from the center of one joist to the center of an adjacent joist. (This measure is known as “on-center” spacing). DEK Drain panels can be installed on framing more narrow than the standard schedule but not wider. Call with questions.

Click the size you need below.

Number of Bays

The quantity of some system components is based on the number of bays in your deck. A Bay is the area between two joists. Many decks will have a narrower non-standard bay. Include this as a full bay in your count.

Cantilevering

An important factor in planning your DEK Drain system is the position of the supporting beam under your deck. A cantilevered deck extends out beyond the supporting beam. If the beam is directly under the outside edge of your deck, it is Standard.

Underside Mounting Options

The recommended option for mounting your Underside system is Joist Mounted attaching the panels to the bottom of the joists and compressing with 1” X 2” strips of lumber. This provides a very secure drainage system. However, with this approach, the panels are visible extending below the joists.

The alternative is a Recess Mounted Underside system using a combination of 1” X 2” strips and caulk to affix the panels up between the joists. The Recess Mounted System is not recommended because there is usually some leaking with this option.
